New Classes at McGinty's and Nick's
Janelle and I are starting our new eight-week
series of classes THIS WEEK at McGinty's Public House in
Silver Spring, MD and
Nick's Nightclub in
Alexandria, VA.
This series we're going to be teaching some Bal-Swing moves you can incorporate into
your normal Lindy dancing (So "Bal-Swing minus the Balboa")

in Alexandria, VA
- MUSICALITY
November 7th - 7:00PM - 9:00PM
What makes a good dancer great? Here's a hint: it's not how
many moves you know, nor is it how fast you can dance! What
makes a good dancer great is being able to move with the
music. This two-hour journey will teach you how to interpret
different types of music: slow verus fast, blues versus
rock and roll, etc. If you've ever danced to a song and
thought, "Hmm, I wonder what I could be doing to this," then this
is the class for you!
- PIZAZZ! STYLING, DIPS AND MORE
November 28th & December 5th - 8:00PM - 9:00PM
Spice up you're dancing! Variety is the cornerstone to
keeping things interesting. You'll learn how to add a little
flourish and shine to your dancing. You'll learn to tweak
moves you already know as well as introducing you to a
variety of dips to finish off (or sprinkle through!) a song.
- BALBOA FOR LINDY DANCERS
December 12th & 19th - 8:00PM - 9:00PM
You asked for it, and Dabe and Janelle are happy to oblige!
While not as extensive as
David Rehm's popular Monday night series,
this two-week workshop will show you how to
dance Balboa in a social setting. You'll learn Balboa moves
you can seamlessly incorporate into your Lindy as well as
techniques for leading and following Balboa and Lindy — at
the same time!
